Marks & Spencer Learning and Development team using food experience as a team working tool

I was tasked to coach the L&D team to innovate and make a difference. I work with this team across different categories of the M&S business which include systems, buying, technical, IT, finance, corporate governance, e-commerce and marketing. My reputation within M&S for my innovative approach to learning led me to use a different environment for our time together –a narrow boat in Little Venice. I took the team on a floating classroom and transformed it into a culinary kitchen with unexpected challenging activities to develop their effective communication and lateral thinking. The results were amazing, not only did we end up with some delicious recipes the team also came up with a whole host of new ideas and ways of working together, valuable skills they took back into the M&S business.
